  1. Erase your DVD RW disc, sometimes only full erasing will help you - long time need it

    1) If you want make DVD Video disc to watch on PC or standalone DVD player connected to the TV set - use DVD Flick Guide to convert and burn your files to DVD. It is all-in-one tool and free.

    2) If you want to store your media file as is, use Data DVD mode in Nero

  2. Sometimes with an RW disc, after the first recording was completed, it does a finalizing thing and  I havenot  figured out how to add more to that DVD other than to erase it and start over with everything.

  3. I'm confused here.

Why are you trying to burn anything to the DVD-ROM ?   The ROM part stands for Read-Only-Memory - you can't write (burn) data to these discs.  Only read from them.

To burn data to a disc, you must use either a DVD-R or DVD-RW disc, and from your question you already burned the movie to one of these, so...what's your question again?
