Hi, It is getting hot in my house here in California. My friend says that if you place the fan at the window, flip the fan, so that its back is facing you, the fan will pull the hot air out and let the cool air get in. However, i do not argee. So, my question is do you pull the hot air out by fliping the fan? Or rather it is just a stupid idea?

  1. By flipping the blades, you will suck out air. As long as the air outside is cooler than inside, it will cool down. Have you ever heard of attic fans? They are the same thing, but remember that heat rises, so you need to be sure your not sucking out the cooler lower air.

  2. It is best to have another fan going in another room sucking the air in and one on the other side of the house or room poointed out sucking the air out..You create a draft this way..

  3. I works. Do it also at nite .

During the day just open windows on the shaded side of house. That way you will pull in cooler air.. Good luck
