Using alt + numbers?

on my old computer i could do the thing where you hold alt and press numbers and cool symbols would come up, now i have a laptop and i cant do it, is there a special way to do it with laptops?

  1. What you need to do is use your laptop num pad keys, generally on M, JKL, IOP, and 789, how you do it is first turn on Num Lock, if it doesn't go on, press FN + Num Lock, then,usingg those numbers on the letter keys, use the Alt method, it should work, if it doesn't, email me and maybe I can figure out why not.

    Also, as an F.Y.I. they are called ASCII Characters


  2. Run charmap.exe if you are running windows.
