Question:

Using an Eastern forehand grip, how is the swinging motion suppose to look like?

I really can't change to any of the other forehand grips: Continental, Australian, Modified Eastern, Semi-Western, Extreme Semi-Western, Western, and Hawaiian. I experimented all of them, but i can't adapt to any other than Eastern. I know how to use it, but some days I just forget. I can do my running forehand without forgetting, just not the stationary neutral rallying forehand. Help?

  1. The main thing to remember with using the eastern is that you always want to still maintain some topspin on all your shots. It is the toughest of the recommended grips for the forehand to get topspin on, so you have to make sure you are brushing up from low to high on your shots, yet rotating your wrist slightly to the left (if your a righty) get the topspin you need to control your shots.

    Hope this helps!
