Using an HDMI to DVI cable to connect PS3 to TV would I have to hook up audio seperately?

  1. Yes, you will absolutely have to connect audio separately.

    DVI is a video-only connection that has no capacity to carry audio of any kind. DVI video is compatible with HDMI, but that is all.

    You can use the included a/v cable that came with the PS3 and use the red and white connectors to get analog stereo audio. (the yellow is unused), or you can use a Toslink (aka optical digital) cable to carry digital surround-sound information to your TV or A/V receiver.
