Using cables from a car theft for music?

Question

My car was broken into recently

they stole my cd player

but left all the wires uncut

can i use the wires to make an aux input for an ipod/mp3?

or is there anything else that I can do?

I still have the amplifier and speakers.

you can't just plug an ipod into them and have it work.  You need to have a cd player connected back to it.  I'd either get a new one, or put the stock cd player back in.
