Question:

Using contacts just to change eye color good bad?

I have dark brown eyes but I was thinking of getting contacts just to change their color, since… dark brown eyes are horridly boring IN MY OPINOIN. I was wondering if this is a good idea and if contacts would some how damage my eyes, since at the moment I have perfect vision.

  1. With any sort of contact lenses there are risks of infection or even tearing the cornea, especially if you are not careful. That being said, today's soft contact lenses let the eyes breath a lot more and are not as bad for the eyes. So if you are careful (i.e. don't sleep with your contact lenses, always rinse them before and after putting them in your eyes, wash and rinse your hands well, use suitable eye drops daily, etc..) you should be fine.

  2. Contacts really shouldn't damage your eyes -- I've been wearing them (for vision correction) for... hmm... about fifteen, sixteen years now with no problems. I would advise you to be more scrupulous about cleaning and replacing them regularly than I've been, though. To be honest, I'm not that great about it.

Dark brown eyes are very pretty, though. (Well, I find them attractive. My husband has them. I'll stop there. *g*) However, they are a little harder to change to another color with contacts because they're darker.

  3. It should be fine............

  4. I wonder why people can never be satisfied the way God made them... and change things in life that really matter.
