  1. First of all, find out how many cups are in a gallon. the answer is 16. so 4 cups is 1/4 of a gallon. so, take .25, and multiply it by the number of days in a year (365), and get your answer, 91.25 gallons. Hope this helped.

  2. Best to use dimensions and let them cancel to give you the right units. That way your math is self checking. Also do only one step at a time to avoid errors.

    4 c/day x 365 day/year  = 1460 c/yr

    The days cancel

    2 cups/pint

    2 pints/quart

    4 quarts/gal

    1460 c/yr / 2 cups/pint = 730 pints/yr

    730 pints/yr / 2 pints/quart = 365 quarts/yr

    365 quarts/yr / 4 quarts/gal = 91.25 gal/yr

    ______________

    22 feet in 2 seconds = 11ft/sec

    11ft/sec / 5280 ft/mi = 0.002083 mi/sec

    0.002083 mi/sec x 3600 sec/hr = 7.5 mi/hr

  3. 4 multiplied by the number of days in a year gives you the answer in cups.

Dividing this by the number of cups in a gallon gives you the answer in gallons.
