With all the rain and cool night our pool is colder than I like, would it be possible to pump hot water from the hot tub into the pool using the pump like when I vacuum the pool and then hold the hose where to return is to fill the hot tub again to reheat the water?

Do you think it would it could work? I want to have friends over.

  1. I don't know, but I would be willing to sacrifice some time out of my busy schedule to test it out for you.  We're friends, right?

  2. It would help a little but as mentioned not a whole lot because of the size. It would be worth a try I would think. I guess it depends on how fast your hot tub can heat water.

  3. Your probably going to be heating alot more water than the heater is designed to handle. If it were my set up, I wouldnt do it.

  4. Consider how long it takes to heat the water in the hot tub only.   4-7 hrs average , Then look at the amount of water in your pool versus the amount of water in the tub. Even if you could get it to work it would take at least 2 weeks to raise the pool temp about 4 degrees . The warm water from the tub will cool down almost as soon as it gets into the pool. Even with a pool heater it takes almost 10 days to get my 20 x 35 pool from 65 up to 72 , and that is leaving the heater on at night only and covered.

  5. Probably not - but you could give it a try
