Using just the picture, not the background

I want to use a picture I edited on Photoshop, but not the background. How do I use JUST the image?

  1. The only way you can really do that is to cut out the background and save the image as a different file name.  That way you still have the original image intact.  I would recommend using GIMP.  It's free and really easy to use.


  2. Just use Photoshop's Magic Lasso tool or similar and outline the image you want to keep. Cut it with Ctrl + X, do a Ctrl + N for new image, set image size, and then do a Ctrl + V to paste.

    You may have to do a Ctrl + a few times to edit out the edges of leftover background.  Then you might want to maybe feather/smudge the edges to smooth over the sharp cut.

  3. when you edit the pic in photo shop just save as GIF so your photo have no background its transperent then you can use it as background
