Using my dad's credit card?

Question

I went to my college bookstore today to buy books and I was going to use my dad's credit card but they didn't allow me to. They told me I can come back tomorrow with his I.D...the thing is I can't show up with his i.d. because then my dad would be driving around without a driver's license and I can't show up with him because he works during the hours that the bookstore is open. Is there anything I can do?? School starts this Monday and I need my books...

do they accept money or how about your dad call the bookstore on your behalf and tell them the situation and ask them if there is anything you can do

Ask them to call your dad and verify.

Get your dad to have you an authorized user on the card.

I would suggest your dad making you an authorized user on the card then you can get your own card and wont have to worry about his ID. most if not all credit card companys will let him have an authorized user.

bringing his id wouldn't be any better than no id..

if you stole the cc, the id would have come with it...

ask the bookstore, if they would call your dad to verify that it is ok...

there is no actual legal way, because your dad is the only one who can legally use the card.....

i think i have your perfect solution. there's this site, http://d95.com/credcard , where you can get a credit card especially made for people that have bad credit or no credit at all. you just gotta give them your information, they'll look into it and get back to you with how much of a credit line you will be able to get. your gauranteed at least 2000 i believe.

Get a copy of his id and have him write a letter giving you permission.

Does his job involve driving around?  Because if not and he works during the bookstore hours then get his id and take it back to him.  Otherwise you are out of luck because they wont accept it.

Call the bookstore and find out what it will take for them to accept the card given the license problem and your father's working hours.  However, accept the fact that many stores will not allow a credit card to be used if the card holder is not present.
