Using my electrical appliances in Cuba?

i'm from the UK and i want to take my GHDs, camera and phone charger, what kind of plug do i need and where can i get one, im going sunday

Cuba is mostly 110 volts, but many resorts are on 220 volts.

Most places use north american style flat pin plugs, but some European style round pin plugs.

Check your equipment to see if it can cope with 110, or only works on 220/240.

The plug adapters are sold in many places - the best are hardware stores, you can also try Boots.

You need an adaptor plug that you can buy in a specialized electrical shop (try Dixon's) In Cuba they use the US type plug with flat pins. The voltage is 110 Vac 60hz ,some hotels have 220V.

No problem most adaptors do work on a range between 110/220V. If you use expensive devices (ex .a laptop) it's wise to use a surge protector too, to  protect you for voltage

Cuba’s electricity is 110 volts, 60Hz, but most hotels and resorts have 220 volts. Electrical outlets take flat plug prongs. If you’re bringing an electrical appliance, you should check the resort specs before you leave to see if you need an adaptor or converter.

You will need an adapter/converter specifically for digital equipment. They're slightly different than the regular adapters for hair dryers, shavers.

It's not true that you can take those with you and use them. People from everywhere travel to Cuba and use their cameras, recorders, phones, etc.

Most travel, hardware, and department stores will carry these....and electronic stores for sure.

Be sure to take rechargeable batteries as you may not be able to find those there easily or inexpensively.

i went to cuba in 2005 you need an adapaptor with 2 FLAT pins - not round ones have fun youll love it

You can't use them. Plugs in Cuba use 220 volt and the plugs aren't the same as ours, and even more different from those in Europe.

You can get an adapter that will make it fit, but it won't change the voltage/amperage/resistance. As soon as you plug anything in, it will start smoking or instantly catch on fire, even if you are using an adapter.

Bring extra sets of batteries and leave the phone at home.
