I dont have a iPhone and am planning to write some apps. I want to test them. I have an iTouch. I was wondering if they both have the same portability.

  1. If you apply for a free iPhone developer account with Apple (which is very easy and can be done online) you can download the iPhone SDK. It is based on obj-C so yes, you can use Obj-C to program your apps.

However, iPhone SDK only works on Intel-based macs that runs under Mac OS X 10.5 (Leopard).

The SDK also has an iPhone emulator so no need to use the iPod Touch to test your apps.

Note: You need to pay USD$99 to sell your apps. That is if it gets passed the Apple screenings.
