Using phone during power cut?

i asked if it was possible to use your landline during a power cut what i forgot to say is that it is a cordless phone. is it possible to use a cordless phone during a power cut?

  1. Not likely.  Your cordless phone requires a base station which is plugged into an AC outlet in your wall.  It is not technically impossible to have a cordless phone with a battery operated base station, but in practice I have not ever seen one.  You could buy an inexpensive phone for emergencies and keep it in a drawer.


  2. Yes, if you have your base station plugged into a battery backup system. Other  than that, no.

  3. Cordless phone will not work during a power cut. That is why I suggest that every household should also have a regular corded phone so that you can call for help in case of an emergency during a power disruption.

  4. Unless your cordless phone is a combo phone. If it is equipped with a corded handset.

    However, you can't use the cordless part.
