Using real food to make refrigerator magnets?

Does anyone know how to make those little magnets using real food? Years ago I visited Texas and while browsing in a local boutique I found refrigerator magnets made out of just about every snackfood you could think of! There wer choc. chip cookies, pretzels, bon bons and tons of other funsnacks that looked like they had been dipped in some type of resin or epoxy~ Does anyone have any idea how to make these and what material was used? Also does anyone have any other fun ideas?

Mabye dip the foods in clear wax and then hot glue them to magnets. or go 2 hobby lobby and buy things that looks like it
