Using remote desktop between vista home premium and Xp home edition?

Question

I've just bought a new acer aspire 5520-5156.

I want to use remote desktop to control my desktop which is in my room with my laptop no-matter where I am; home, work, ect.

I've got remote desktop installed on both machines, but I'm having trouble establishing the connection.

Any help?

I'm actually in the same situation (vista home premium --> xp home edition), at the same time as you are.  But I don't know how to work this hack I found online:

According to this site, it worked for a lot of users like a charm.  But I don't understand what I'm doing wrong.  

I provided you with a source that might help us.  If it works for you, can you tell me what to do?It went to the last step for me ("press any key to continue...").  But when I go to system and look for remote desktop, I don't see options to turn on admin server.
