Question:

Using snowboarding pants for skiing?

Hello everyone,

I am a skier but I just bought the 686 access snowboarding pants for this season.

I personally don't think there's a big difference if I used them for skiing instead of snowboarding.

What do you guys/girls think?

I just want a second opinion, thanks.

  1. Yes they will work fine.

Designed to do the same thing, just may not be double-layered between the shins.

  2. No, there really isnt a big difference. You can use the snowboarding pants for skiing.

  3. I ski and the next time I get gear I'm going to check out the snowboard stuff.  My friends who ride feel that the pants are more comfortable and the jackets have better venting.

I have a pair of Convert snowboarding gloves that have a squeegee built into one of the fingers that have lasted me at least 5 years and are the best gloves I have ever used.

Use whatever feels good and is decent quality and price.

  4. Sometimes I wear a pair of burton pants while skiing...I love the extra cargo pockets especially in the spring when I'm wearing my windbreaker which doesn't have any pockets

only difference is some board pants have abit of extra padding...who couldn't use that? lol

  5. I say if they keep your pants dry, then they are fine for any snow sport.  Last year i used snowboarding snowpants for skiing, and they worked fine.  Good Luck!

  6. Theres no reason you couldn't wear snowboarding pants for skiing.  Snow pants are snow pants!  Some people wear snowboarding pants for snowmobiling and others wear snowmobiling pants for skiing or snowboarding, of course snowmobile pants wouldn't be recommended for skiing and snowboarding because of their heavy insulation.

  7. I wouldn't sweat it. They are made for snow, right?
