Using the octa bus?

I have never used an octa bus before but now that I am going to summer school I have to use it to get to school (no ride during summer), I have the bus schedule and everything but I was wondering.. how to signal the bus driver to pull over at my stop. I have heard that there are some type of yellow cords throughout the bus, but I dont know how they function. I know this question might seem a little dumb but if you know anything, please help. Thank you!

  1. Yes, most OCTA buses use pull cords located just above the windows. Just pull the cord about a block prior to the stop you need to alight at. This will signal the bus operator by ringing a bell and also illuminates a "Stop Requested" light visible from throughout the bus. Some buses use a push tape strip in place of the pull cord but it functions in the same manor and is typically located between the window panels. Be aware of the route you are on as some major streets have both local and limited versions of a given route where the limited bus will only stop at major intersections and transfer points. Good Luck!

  2. and another wonderful god gave us is our voice you can

always tell the bus driver "next stop please!) (that usually works! :)
