Im on the pill and take my pill at the exact time everyday, me and my boyfriend also use 'extra safe' condoms everytime. I know that with both of these there is around a 1-2% chance of getting pregnant, but is this risk decreased with both of them? and what is this 1-2% risk, is it like if the condom splits or something or even if a condom is used completely effectively is there still this risk, because i dont understand that if no c um goes into you there can still be a risk :S so yeh, what are the chances of me becoming pregnant?

  1. your odds of not getting pregnant are better the more birth control you use, so you're doing good.

  2. i was on YAZ and we used a condom..and im 28 weeks preg! so there is a chance,,prolly not a big chance at all..but its still there

  3. VERY slim

Using both makes it basically 100% positive you wont get pregnant.

  4. It's never 100%, but that's about as close as you're gonna come without abstaining.  I've had a friend who has used the same method as you for 7 years and has never become pregnant.  I used pills alone for 7 months and was fine and now have used condoms alone for another 7 months and I've been fine.  However, if you're seriously not wanting a child, you're using a good method.  Good luck!

  5. Yes both is the most secure way. Using a condom made with a spermicide too even further increases the chances. Condoms and the pill rarely fail. If you used both together, both would have to fail at the same time for you to become pregnant. Even if that happened, the spermicide would be your third back up.

    Good to be this cautious!

  6. Hi there is no way if you are using both forms of contraception that you will get pregnant, there is 99% with the pill and 99% with a condom when used properly so if you are using both then there is no likey way of getting pregnant, most women just use the pill as there only contraception when in a long term relationship and unless they miss a few they dont get pregnant as its very effective, so im guessing you and your boyfriend as doing it properly and have no high risk of pregnancy etc.

  7. Chances are very slim, but as some people will tell you it is never 100% but what you are doing is right. It is very unlikely that you will get pregnant that way.

  8. There Isn't Much Of A Chance @ All ! :)

  9. Its highly unlikely ud get pregnant.

U got double protection, so if one method fails u got a backup.

  10. It is smart to use two forms of contraceptives when avoiding pregnancy. Pills can fail if you skip two pills, need to take antibiotics or if you drink heavily. Condoms can split, tear or leak and are not enough alone for birth control but do help to prevent std's. Human error is more often the case in teen pregnancy. Best wishes, G

  11. There's not much of a chance at ALL! I'd say 2% chance.

  12. Any time  you double up on birth control you greatly reduce the odds of pregnancy.  (You multiply the two failure rates together, so the odds of pregnancy with pills+condoms would be about .01 x .02 -- in other words VERY, VERY low.

(Condom failure can occur if the condom breaks or leaks or comes off.  'Actual' failure rates with condoms are much higher than ideal failure rates, because so many couples don't use them consistantly or correctly. [They may have s*x for a while then stop to put the condom on, or decide to go bare 'just this once'.]  Quality control for condoms is VERY high, so breakage/leakage would be rare with correct use.)

  13. If you are pregnant with all of these I congratulate you!

No, if you don't a condom there is no chance to be pregnant!
