  1. The relationship is:

      G = E + PV - TS

    where G = Gibbs free energy

             P = Pressure

             V = volume

             (PV = work)

             T = temperature

             S = entropy

    This equation cannot predict how the universe will end, but it works well for chemical reactions.

    However, one scenario is that the entropy times temperature becomes equal to the sum of the internal energy E plus the work PV.

    At this point, there is no more free energy to do anything.  The universe is at equilibrium.  This formula works only if the system under consideration is closed in a thermodynamic sense.  I am not sure that this condition applies to the entire universe.

  2. The universe ends at 42.

    Universe != 42
