Question:

Using the same golf shaft?

I have a Cleveland hibore driver. I was swinging one day and the shaft broke right at the hosel. with this club the shaft only goes into the hosel about 2 cm. Could I use the same shaft? I looked at the height and you can hardly tell a difference. I already have the hosel cleaned out.

  1. Probably not a good idea.  Since it broke down at the hosel that must have been a weak section of the shaft, so it might just break again.  Since the HiBores are only about two years old tops, I would send it back to Cleveland and have them reshaft it for you under warranty.

  2. clevland will replace the shaft . most retailers will give you a over the counter replacement , they will contact clevland , recieve a return item number . give you new club . in many cases you may well recive the 2008 model as the warrenty club . good luck .

  3. I would recommend this, especially if you broke the shaft not through neglect of the club.  Go to your local golf galaxy and get fitted for a new shaft.  Driver shafts do not typically break if they're right.  Go get fitted and you should be set with an absolutely perfect driver.  What might have felt great, might not have been the best shaft for you.  You might even need a stiff flex.

  4. NO, no way dude... its not about the height of the shaft, its the integrity of the broken shaft, its been compramised.   Also the tip diameter entering the shaft may have changed.

    Basically, get a new shaft.
