Question:

Using thinning shears/scissors to thin out hair?

To all the hair stylists out there (and anyone with hair experience), I have a few questions about thinning out my hair. My hair is the thick asian type of hair; it's a little poofy/frizzy. I really want to thin my own hair.

Should I use thinning shears or thinning scissors? What is the difference?

How should I thin my hair? ie. using which method?

Thanks y'all for helping me out. ;)

  1. a razor blade that you shave your legs with is really good get a new one and then your hair like that go down and shave off the amount you want i did it to my hair :] http://i267.photobucket.com/albums/ii296... comes out good.

  2. yeh you shouldnt do it yourself....and by the way dont use a razor...that splits the hair shaft and causes hair to be more frizzy than before...its best to use the shears....but not yourself...let a professional do it....or else youll look like the chick with the picture....alot of poof....and your trying to avoid that

  3. your going to need alot of hair experiance to achieve that yourself.

just go to a professional and they can thin it out for you.

  4. Babydoll, don't try it yourself.  It takes alot of practice to do what you want to achieve. Go to a professional and let them do.  It's the best advice I can give you.

    Best of luck
