  1. Have you tried s-vid to s-vid?  Seems to me that converting the signal might be counterproductive.

  2. If you use RCA to S video you need to configure you computer to output through s video and also you need to change the resolution as usually rca can't handle the resolution of VGA output........

1.If you have VISTA (similar process to XP) right click on your desktop

    2.select properties or personalise

    3.select display options

and change the settings there...lower the resolution

ALSO try to use an s-video to s-video cable rather than a s to rca....

You also need an audio cable BEST to use is:

3.5mm to 2 rca cable (headphone jack to red and white connection)

You can't just plug in a s video to rca and expect to work.  I did the same thing LOL>>>>>

  3. Ok, of those connections, you want to be using VGA, no s-video.  It's of a much higher quality, so concentrate on that.

If neither of the 2 connections have worked as of yet, have you checked that the graphics card and ports on your PC are actually working?  If you generally know the sort of thing you should be doing but can't get it to work, I would suggest testing it on someone else's TV (or using someone else's PC on yours).

You do need to turn on the external device before it will output any signal to it, but if as you say they won't 'see each other' I assume you have tried this but failed?
