Comparing the enthalpies of reaction calculated from bond enthalpies and from standard enthalpies of formation, which would be more accurate?

  1. You're absolutely right about it.

    I would add that the same kinds of bonds have different energies in different molecules, so using bond energies is indeed an approximation.


  2. Enthalpies of formation should be more accurate.
