Using wi-fi on Blackberry 8120 without data plan - can it be done?

I'm on Orange UK with a PAYG sim. I've set up wi-fi through our home router and it's connected (green light). For a guide see:

I've also set the browser to be wi-fi browser, however I can't access any websites. I understand from reading other posts that other people have connected to local wi-fi points without being on a costly data plan. Do you have any suggestions as to how I can do this?

Connecting through wifi will not cost you anything as your using the access points data transfer not mobile data.  As long as you have the ssid and pass key it should be simple to connect and use the web.
