Question:

Using your Ipod on Your Computer

I'm far from the most tech savvy person when it comes to computers. I recently bought a laptop and connected my ipod to the computer through the usb port; I had thought by doing so, I would be able to use the ipod right off the bat. I get the "connected, eject before disconnecting mesage" on the ipod, however, and cannot go beyond that in order to use the my ipod and access the songs on it. I remember using a progam in order to place mp3's on my ipod etc. I believe it was itunes. Do need this program in order to actually be able play these songs on my computer? I haven't had a computer in a while, so this is why I'm so rusty. Thanks for your time.
