Usman Salahuddin prefers domestic cricket in Bangladesh over Pakistan’s – Cricket News Update
Discarded young batsman from Pakistan, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Usman-Salahuddin-c94700, is not taking part in the on-going Faysal Bank T20 Tournament 2012 in Rawalpindi because he has decided to play domestic cricket in Bangladesh instead.
The right-handed middle-order batsman was supposed to represent Lahore Eagles in the tournament but was offered a lucrative contract from Bangladesh, which he could not turn down.
Usman has been a prolific run-getter in the domestic cricket of http://www.senore.com/Cricket/ICC-World-Cup-2011-c100625 Cricket World Cup 2011 and was selected
for the tour of http://www.senore.com/Cricket/West-Indies-c760 last year, where he played a couple of One Day Internationals. However, the right-hander failed to make an impression in those encounters and as a result; he was dropped from the national team.
On a condition of not naming him in the media, a source from Lahore Eagles, while speaking to Pakpassion, expressed utter disappointment on the decision of the budding cricketer. He said that Usman was supposed to play a big role in the tournament for the
Eaglers but he decided otherwise.
The source expressed, "We are disappointed with Usman, he was going to be one of our key batsmen in the middle order, but he has opted not to play in this tournament. It's his decision at the end of the day."
He further added that the right-hander told the team management at the very last moment about his decision. The source feels that Usman has a great future ahead of him but he has not made the right decision as he should have given priority to the national
cricket, instead of going after money at this stage of his career.
"Usman attended our training camp for one day and then informed the team management that he would be going to http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Bangladesh-c747 rather than travelling with the squad to Rawalpindi. He is a bright young talent but I feel that he has been misadvised regarding this
issue. He is a young man and sometimes decisions are made without full thought," he added.
