It depends on what kind it is and how aggressive it is. People who are known to be at very high risk like those who are on anti-rejection medication are checked once a year as it can develop that fast. Others that are HPV positive can take as little as 6 years from the time of exposure to more than 10 years, but of course there could always be another factor involved that triggered it.
