Utah Jazz vs Sacramento Kings preview
The Utah Jazz and Sacramento Kings will come face to face with each other tonight at 9 pm at the Energy Solutions Arena, Salt Lake City, UT. It will indeed be a challenging as well as an encouraging game for the Jazz. The last time that they played against
the Kings at home they had earned a victory over them 82-71.
Team Stats
The Utah Jazz has won nine and lost five whereas the Kings have won four and lost eight games. The Utah Jazz has three home wins and three defeats to their record whereas the Kings have two and six.
The Utah Jazz are considered one of those teams that attack their opponents from the back. They are called the come-from-behind teams of NBA. This is because they take in the match at the last moment and steals the show for them self. Despite all this there
are chances that they might play a complete 48 minutes at some point.
The Utah Jazz team is fully prepared and is looking forward to taking a leap at the Kings on Monday night. They are shooting 42.1 percent in the first quarter from the field. They are scoring the NBA’s worst 44.1 points per game in the first half. Yet they
are equally dangerous with their highest field-goal percentage in the second half, which is 48.8 percent.
The Jazz (9-5) are so far successful in achieving six fourth quarter come backs so far.
It was shocking for the Utah Jazz to see themselves lagging behind by nine points during the final 12 minutes of the game while playing against Portland Blazers on Saturday night 103-94.The 23 year old Calvin Andre C.J Miles was the one who stole the show
for the Utah Jazz. He made five 3 pointers and scored 17 points in the fourth quarter in which they scored 38 points.
Phil Johnson who is an assistant coach of the Utah Jazz team later said that, “I think sometimes the home team tightens up a little bit,” He was coaching the team as Jerry Sloan the Head coach was attending a family funeral. “I really believe
that when a team is coming back on you like that it is hard to withstand”.
Deron Williams is also an important player as he leads the team with 21.6 per game. He scored his season low 12 points but succeeded in grabbing 11 assists. The Jazz team must be looking forward to his performance as he has an average of 20.0 points and
10.5 assists that he scored during his previously played nine games against the Kings.
The Jazz played perfectly well against the Blazers. They went 21 for 21 from the free throw line against them. This was the first time in franchise history that they shot 100.0 percent and made more than 17 attempts in a game.
The Sacramento Kings lost to the New Orleans Hornets on Sunday 75-71. This was their seventh loss in eight games. The Kings have an average of 90.8 points after they scored 108.8 per game in the first four games that they played this season.
The Sacramento Kings were down by three points when they entered the fourth quarter. However, in the final period they shot their season worst 30.0 percent from the field.
“We couldn’t get shots when we needed them”, the unhappy coach Paul Westphal later explained. “It’s a shame when you play as hard as effectively as we played tonight to not have a win to show for it”. This explains the misery they suffered.
Tyreke Evans is in the lead for the Kings with 18.9 points per game and he was also confined to nine points on Sunday. He might be able to take a step forward and lead his team past the Utah Jazz, as in the last season he has been successful in making an
average of 27.0 points against them as a rookie.
