Uterus didelphys (two wombs in one body) questions?

Question

I've just had a few questions about this, having two wombs, cervix, etc.

1. some people say you have two vaginas; in some cases could doctors (or people with this condition) tell they have two wombs in some cases externally?

2. could having an extremely heavy period every time be a symptom of this condition, because of having two uterus means having two separate periods?

3. if you had two uterus would taking birth control only effect one or not protect you as well?

4. can your doctors tell if you have two uterus from a pap smear? if not from an ultra sound?
