Utility Company's - Late payment charge?

Most Utility companies DO NOT have enough people to personally check everyone's meter before billing them, so the estimate.

So how can they charge a late fee or disconnection fee on something you may or not owe?

(they read the meter usually only on the disconnect or RANDOMLY thru out the year)

  1. Really, I see my meter readers every month. The only time they estimate is when someone locks the gate improperly and they can't get in.
