Uttar Pradesh v http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Kumar-Shri-Ranjitsinhji-c71870 Trophy - Group B – Day 1 – Live Score and Update
Baroda 254 v Uttar Pradesh 18/0 (6.0 ov) - Uttar Pradesh trail by 236 runs with 10 wickets remaining in the 1st innings
The Group B match between Baroda and Uttar Pradesh, in the ongoing http://www.senore.com/Cricket/India-c750’s domestic tournament the Ranji Trophy, had a perfect first day where the pitch had plenty for the batsmen and the bowlers alike. With a competitive wicket at Green Park, Kanpur, fans can certainly brace themselves for a spectacular finish.
After http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Uttar-Pradesh-c858 chose to field, they bowled-out their opposition for 254 and now trail by 236 runs with 10 wickets in hand after scoring 18 runs without any loss at stumps.
They had a great start when they nabbed their first wicket at a time when Baroda had posted only seven runs on the board.
AS Rajpoot, drew first blood as he dismissed Baroda opener, DM Mistry for nil, this success was followed by their second wicket with only nine runs on the board, as Kumar crashed AA Waghmode’s stumps all over the place, causing the batsman to walk back to the pavilion with only nine runs to his name.
The fourth-wicket partnership between ARPS Chauhan and RK Solanki then showed some claws as the batting duo led the side towards 41 runs, before they played their last on the demise of Solanki, who was dismissed by Rajpoot with 25 runs to his name.
Chauhan and skipper AT Rayudu then hammered the bowlers for a while to take the score to 83, before the former crumbled after hammering 22 runs off 82 deliveries.
Till this time, Uttar Pradesh were looking good, however, the next partnership between Rayudu and KH Devdhar turned the game around, as the batsmen moulded a defiant stand, taking the score to 187. This partnership left the bowlers battered and desperate, however, UP came back by dismissing the Baroda skipper after a well tamed knock of 85.
Next to go was Devdhar, who found his way off the field after hammering a belligerent knock of 65 runs.
Apart from http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Ketan-Narottam-Panchal-c71053 hammering 31, the tail-enders failed to give a big show as they crumbled in 83.3 overs.
