  1. Semi-auto only versions of machine guns & fully-automatic pistols are not usually illegal in the USA provided that they are legal compliant in everything else.  Also, if a person is willing to 'jump through hoops' and spend a lot cash he can sometimes own a legal full-auto weapon in the USA (depending also on the State where he resides).

  2. They could either be semi automatic pistols which are perfectly legal or automatic sub-machine guns which were manufactured and registered before 1986 making them exempt from the ban.

  3. Yes full auto firearms are legal in the USA -- BUT BUT BUT -- They are not legal in every state and jurisdiction. There is also a daunting permit process that is expensive and a hassle..... For most people its to much of a headache to get a one.....

  4. Automatic Uzis are not illegal in the US in general.  They are just prohibitively expensive to own.  As for which of the three are better, it depends on what you're using them for.  I own a Vector Arms semi-automatic Uzi carbine with an 18" barrel.  It is very accurate and fun to shoot.

However, if you want to carry it around with you, the mini or micro Uzis are much better options.  It's very difficult to carry a full-size Uzi under your suit or trench coat.  There are shoulder holsters available for all models of the Uzi, it's just that the full-size guns weigh close to 10 lbs. fully loaded.
