Popularity is a noun formed from the adjective 'popular', which means liked or admired by many or by a particular person or group, intended for or suited to the taste or means of the general public or (of a belief or attitude) widely held among the general public.

Fame is the state of being famous, which simply means known about by many people.

Some meat-eaters are famous, yes.
