  1. In your school any girl can play because the couches don't care for the hight they just care how good u can play

  2. I'm middle hitter/blocker and I'm 5'11''. I'm not a varsity player, because I'm only in 8th grade. But my friend in 10th grade made varsity when she was a freshman, because she's REALLY good and she's 6'3''.

  3. I'm in the 7th grade and I'm the main middle hitter.  I'm 5'4 but the tallest girl is 5'6. In volleyball, height might be nice but if you were 7'0 but you couldn't play it would be worthless. One of the reasons I'm a middle hitter is because I can jump over a foot high.  Sorry about the age difference but I'll answer any question to the best of my ability.

  4. well .. Our Tallest Girl On our Team Jv && Varsity Is Prolly Like 5'6 ... But everyone else is like 5'4 ... But then WE got Short People Like Me .. Who's only 5 Ft But im a setter so i dont really have to be that tall and another girl who only plays back row!!

  5. well at my school, the players are like giants. i think our average height for our varsity is like 5'10, but we have 5 girls over 6 feet. It's ok if your not tall. you have to be tall to play. I am personally pretty short. And not all the tall girls play volleyball, some might play basketball or something.

  6. a lot of girls on varsity are short, and jv as well. but on varsity, the shortest girl is captain, so i don't think height matters much.

  7. Our middle is about 5'8 or 5'9 but there is one girl slightly taller than her. The average height of my team is 5'5 which is ridiculous, we have shorty's like 5'0, two 5'1's and a 5'3 so it brings the average down. Personally, all this bs about "oh height doesn't matter" is just what I said, bs. If you have someone that is 5'6, that is actually pretty short for volleyball but if they posess the skills, talent, and cooperation then they most certainly can play highschool and college volleyball. There's actually a few that small in the AVP, just not huge names like Kerri Walsh and Misty May of course. As far as the average, I'd say that's on the short side too. When it comes to winning, you need to have the tallest, most physically fit competitors you can find. If one team has five girls over 6 foot and your team has mostly girls that are 5'7 and such, it's going to be a tough game by sheer physical adequacy alone. But, if you're on a team that's more for fun then I wouldn't worry about it. Many teams with shorter players have been great and winners but you don't want to settle for the shortest if you can find the tallest. I am only 5'7 and I know in volleyball world this is shrimpy but don't let your height count you out of playing but just play harder than anyone bigger than you to show you can be just as good or better than someone with a whola lotta height.

  8. high school teams are mean. they only get tall players
