  2. Well, good question! :P

I guess one possible interpretation is this:

Human nature dictates that 'when in Rome, do as the Romans do'. In other words, no one wants to stand out. No one wants to dare to be different, especially when under a regime of fear. If you've seen the film, you'll remember that when V broke into the emergency channel to broadcast his speech about the 5th of November, people were actually listening and agreeing with him silently in their living rooms. It could be said that he was just the spark needed, the momentum required, for the revolution to occur. Also:

    Remember, remember,

    the fifth of November,

    The gunpowder, treason, and plot

I know of no reason why the gunpowder treason

    should ever be forgot.

The 5th of November was the day that Guy Fawkes and his 'crew' were going to blow up parliament, because the nobles and the 'commons' were in different houses. i.e. they were not seen as equals. Democracy asks for equality, giving a right to all to vote, to speak out. Yet very few indeed dare to be different from the bulk of the 'mob', very few dare to speak out for the right.

I hope that answers your question (if not totally, then in part). =)

  3. Jerry says:

V for Vendetta is about fighting the ruling class.

If I could make a suggestion, go get the graphic novel. It isn't that long and is much better and more understandable than the money. You also have the ability to skim through and better understand things.

I did a term paper when I was going for my MA in English about the book V for Vendetta. Specifically, I addressed the "V" and it's uncanny resemblence to an inverted anarchy sign.
