V5 tamagotchis won't connect..?

Question

me and my sister both have a v5 tamagotchi, but whenever we try connecting them it wont work. it just goes to the 'stand by' screen, then eventually disappears. we've tried having the tamagotchis the same age and full hunger and happy.

does anybody know why it wont let us connect? D:

Maybe both of your tamas have to be really connected with eachother like playing games and giving presents to eachother. Try holding the both of the tamas facing opposite eachother if you didn't do it right before.
