I got out of the Army with a Med Board about 2 yrs ago. Last Nov I applied for VA and yesterday I found out I was denied. I never seen the VA doctors for a check up. I was told that they had to see me before making a decision. I know a lot of people who have been approved for the same things I was denied for. Did some thing go wrong with my records? I haven't even gotten a letter I found out by calling because it had been months since I have heard any thing.

  1. You can file an appeal.  Call the VA back and ask for the form numbers you need to file to do an appeal.  If you got out 2 years ago you waited way to long to call and ask what was going on with your claim.  They physical should have happened right after you got out.

  2. Contact your local DAV office. They have the inside straight on dealing with the VA. Here's a link:http://www.dav.org/

I retired 15 years ago and am in the process of getting some of my service related problems recognized.

  3. First, did you see a v.a. representitive?? if you get help with a local v.a. rep, they will file all that stuff for you, using your medical records and what other documentation you might need. Second, i think you have a year from your EAS to file your disabilities with the v.a. and after a year i have no idea what happens. But the good news is that you can appeal the decision made by the va. Your best bet is to find a local va rep, or go to the american legion, or the vfw. thats the veterans of foreign wars.
