  1. Hardly. 3 months warranty is 3 months warranty.

3 months is a long time to check things over, and for a pawnbroker, its a VERY long time. When I managed a pawnbrokers, I gave 14 days.

You might ring and ask, but as they have a generous warranty period, I wouldnt bother. Particularly with items that are so sensitive to damage. They wont believe you when you say you havent used it, because they are lied to on a daily basis.

You could try putting a CD lens cleaner through it. Perhaps there is a bit of dust built up on the lens, this could be why it is jumping and skipping.

Some brands are very sensitive with burned CD's and unless they are burned on very good quality CD's at a slow rate, they wont play or they skip.

BTW, if its not been installed in a car, how have you tested it? Car CD players need to be held very still to stop them from skipping. Perhaps it will act different when mounted in a car.
