  1. a vegan is someone who doesn't eat/drink anything that comes from animals. two of my cousins are vegans. you can eat lots of yogurt, fruits, veggies, soy milk, chocolate, salad, potatoes, beans, rice, and almost any drink except regular milk.

  2. I'm a preschool teacher, and 2 of our kids are vegan, we have this chart posted on our wall in the classroom BASICALLY nothing with a face :] should be simple; hope it helps

  5. obviously, you can go with soy milk and soy cheese and things like that,  also tofu is good. lots of protien, and you can make it taste like whatever you want it to. really all i can thiink of, but make sure you eat LOTS of soy!

also i need to point out, YOGURT IS NOT VEGAN!!! its mad of milk so if your vegan don't eat it!

  6. I wish you all the best on your new choice. It's really not that hard (unless, of course, you ate a lot of dairy). Here are samples of what I eat and I hope it helps!:

Breakfast: Steel cut oats, oatmeal, cold cereal, toast and organic peanut butter, fresh fruit, frozen waffels with flax seeds on top, rice milk.

Lunch: tossed salad, veggie sandwich (or wrap), leftovers from the night before (lol), vegetable soup, hummus and unsalted corn chips (or green pepper strips/baby carrots).

Dinner: black bean tacos, homemade ravioli, veggie stir fry over brown rice or quinoa, baked sweet potato, steamed veggies, rice pilaf, pasta salad, etc.

  7. As with everything, check all ingredients.

Bagel with Peanut Butter or Vegan Margarine

Pasta Primavera (veggies and marinara sauce)

Falafel with Tahini Sauce in Pita Bread

Taco Salad with Romaine Lettuce, Black Beans, Salsa, and Guacamole

Soup: Lentil, Hamless Split Pea, Potato-Broccoli, etc.

Bean Burrito with Black Beans, Salsa, and Guacamole

Veggie pizza; either no cheese or a vegan cheese topping

Fried or Baked, Marinated Tofu with Rice and Veggies

    Fresh Garlic Bread (bruschetta)

And that's just to name a few.  There are a ton of places online that can show you what to eat, too.

  8. Hello congrats on the new change. I am a raw vegan and I enjoy it, I eat veggies, fruits, nuts and seeds. You should go to a bookstore and buy a recipe book, I did this and it helped a lot. One of my favorite website is www.thegardendiet.com. They helped inspire me more. I wish you the best of luck!

  9. Here's what I had yesterday. :P

    Breakfast:

    Vegan pancakes- http://www.recipezaar.com/132263

    with syrup and fruit.

    Lunch:

Veggie wrap with whole wheat wrap, garlic hummus, and vegetables.

    Dinner:

Amy's brand non-dairy black bean burrito and pasta salad (Shaddap, I was at work and craved something junky so I ran to the grocery store.)

When I got home I made cookies.

  10. you can eat soy, like tofu products, grains, beans, fruits and vegetables. there are a lot of tofu products that are made to taste like the real meat product that are decently good.

  11. umm I was a vegetarian for 3 years. I am 14 now. I recommend getting a vegan cookbook. There isn't a lot you can eat. At Safeway there is a section of vegetarian and vegan foods. They are really good too. They have  noodle soup, meatless ribs, etc.

  12. Vegan is not easy; but you could make bean and rice burritos with salsa and guacamole.  As long as you skip the sour cream and cheese, you are fine.

Lentil soup is good too, you could make whole wheat croutons to put in it.

  13. Oreos. If I'm not mistaken, they're completely made out of chemicals.

  14. i pretty much eat spaghetti or rice all of the time because i am lazy :)

  16. Here is a small list of foods.

    http://michaelbluejay.com/veg/eat.html

Bread, pasta, cereal, rice, beans, peas, lentil, nuts, seeds, fruits and veggies can easily offer everything that you need except B12.

    http://www.veganhealth.org/sh

    http://www.pcrm.org/health/veginfo

All vegetarians should take a B12 supplement regularly since most people eat meat, dairy AND fortified cereals yet still have a B12 status that is lower than recommended.

    http://www.veganhealth.org/articles/b12

It may help you if you see proof that vegan people have the same potential as anyone else.

If you need meat or dairy during any stage of your life or to live any certain lifestyle, why does the American Dietetic Association say otherwise?
