VELOCITY Veloplugs? good? bad?

heard about an alternative to rim tape: Velocity veloplugs. any thoughts?

I buddy of mine uses them and says they're great. They don't take up space at the bottom of the rim like tape does, so using them lets you install tight tires easier. I think they're more expensive than rim tape, though.
