VGA to HDMI cables?

Do they exist? If not, what will i need to connect my laptop to my HDTV? I tried S-Video and got it to work, but the picture isn't clear.

  1. You cannot convert VGA to HDMI but you can convert VGA to Component Video and your picture will be crystal clear. You need a special converter, like this one by Key Digital:

  2. Why not use the VGA output from your laptop? Your TV probably has a VGA input port. You did not mention its brand or model.

  3. They don't exist. VGA is analog and HDMI is digital. Therefore if you want to make this conversion you will need a conversion box that will cost quite a bit of money. A better option would be to stick with analog. If your TV does not have a VGA input you may be able to convert the VGA output to Component video fairly easy depending on your graphics card/integrated graphics of your laptop. Just search for a conversion cable made for the graphics chipset manufacturer of your laptop.

    Some laptops also have DVI out. If you do have this and have a DVI input or HDMI input on your TV you can but a simple adapter and have this work.
