Question:

VGA to HDMI converter?

Hi,

HAs anyone used a VGA to HDMI converter on their TV to hook up a computer to a HDTV? Like this item-----> http://sewelldirect.com/articles/vga-to-hdmi.aspx

It claims to digitize the VGA signal and transform it to a digital HDMI. I'm interested in this as my TV does not have a VGA input. I do connect my laptop to my bedroom HDTV that has a built in VGA input and the image quality is awesome! If anyone has used a devise like this, will I get the same image quality as a direct VGA (output) to VGA (input) connection?

Thanks

  1. install a GeForce 5200 video card in your computer and use a S-Video cable to a device manager. the run co-ax to your tv.

  2. A VGA to HDMI is a good option. THe S-Video cable doesn't look good on an HDTV. *unless you like worse than VHS video quality* those converters sell for $50.00 to $100.00 on ebay. Just type VGA to HDMI converter on ebay. And no noticeable video quality deterioration is visible.
