VHS video tape problem!! Please answer, it is very important to my family!!?

Okay, I was just browsing through some old family videos today, and came across a rather special one that was recorded all the way back in 1994. Iput it in my VCR to watch, and the video played as though it was being sped up; both audio and video. The voices sounded like chipmunks, and it kind of resembled a tape being fast forwarded.

Please help me out, there are many precious memories on that particular tape!!

It sounds like your VCR did not properly sense the speed the tape was recorded at. This is most likely due to dirt in the VCR. I would try a cleaning tape in the VCR. If this does not work perhaps you can borrow or rent another VCR to make a newer copy of your treasured tape.

did it work ok before???, if so try another tape in that vcr, if it does the same use another vcr, if that doesn t do it take the tape to someone who can digitize it on to dvd for you.......
