i have this virus called "mcafee site adviser" that stops a download in the middle of download progress from around 10 to 90 percent of completion, in order to stop some kind of virus attack.

i know this for a fact coz i noticed the pop up warning that " mcafee has stopped this download for safety reasons and ****" im quite sure coz I stared at the notice for 2 minutes until it went away on its own ....

BUT NOW, ALL my downloads seem to halt after 10kb to 90% ... its getting very frustrating, like when im downloading anime 235.MB , the first time megaupload crashed, the second time my PC crashed .... now even a 1.5 MB file seem to download forever and then it stops ....

i remember similar **** like this happening years ago when im still using WINDOWS 98 ... is this Mcafee still or its a virus

if its Mcaffe - how do i turn this particular irritating feature off temporarily with out shutting virus-scan all together ...

if its a virus - virus scan cant detect it - what else is there

  1. The Best Way is to Reformat ur computer

  2. Depending on what browser you are using, McAfee's site advisor can be disabled.

    If on FF>Tools>Add Ons>Disable Siteadvisor.

    Restart check now

If on IE> go to Start>Progras>accessories>System tools>IF without plugins (safe mode)

  3. mcafee site adviser is not a virus!!!!!!!!!! it comes with mcafee! mcafee site adviser indicates what sites to go on and what sites is dangerous and not to go on! it also prevents dangerous programs from installing on your pc! maybe thats why it stopped the download! only go to the web sites that has the green tick!
