  2. October is an excellent time to visit Paris and I frequently find myself there at that time of the year. Indeed, I spent October of last year in Paris. The weather is pleasantly cool but not cold and while there is frequent rain (on average 17 days in the month) it is usually light and brief.

    The worst of the tourist influx will be over which will make lines at attractions shorter and popular tourist sights less crowded generally. Airfares and hotel rates are also usually lower than in the peak tourist months.

    Fewer tourists clogging things up also puts the local population in a better mood.
