  1. personally, i am not a big fan of vizio.  i feel that usually, you get what you pay for.  plus, i have heard horror stories about their support and their warranty.  just remember, a tv is only as good as the support you get when there is a problem.  i would save the extra bucks and get a sharp aquos, samsung, or a panasonic, where you know that you'd be satisfied, rather than going with something cheap (ie visio, maxent, dynex, etc) and having it break down in a year.

  2. You get what you pay for.  Vizio is a Wal-Mart brand.  The biggest stink that I personally have heard about the VIZIO is, service and/or warranty repair.  It's not good, it's not good at all.

Check out Consumer Reports and see what they say about Vizio brand. Then see what they say about Sony's, etc.

In this order from best to...Sony, Sharp then Samsung

And stick with a LCD televisions.  Don't waste your money on plasma TV.

I know, I use to sell televisions when I use to work for Home Depot during the Christmas season.

  3. I love mine, the picture is amazing.  Obviously it's not as good as some of the real expensive ones, but it's a MUCH better value.  The only problem I've ever had with it is you can't have a HD input and a non-HD input in the PIP.  A very minor detail. and I don't think many of the expensive ones can do that either.

  4. You can pretty much ignore the first 2 answers, as they obviously don't know what they are talking about. Vizio is not a 'WalMart brand', and it is a third tier, disposable, junk TV. Read this - http://www.hdguru.com/your-new-disposabl...

In LCDs, the brands that are BOTH especially good in performance and reliability, best first, are: Panasonic and Sony (tie); Toshiba; Sharp; and Samsung. If you can't now afford on of these, wait and save up a bit more!
