Hi!

I am looking for a VOIP software for MAC OS X. I have looked at Skype, Gizmo5, Joi Phone, VOIP, Comcast etc. Most of them either need an adapter. And the ones which do not need an adapter have high calling rates. I want to make calls from New Zealand to India. Any recommendations? Thanks.

  1. Skype doesn't need an adaptor as far as I know. All you need to do is register an account with Skype (SykpeOut) and you can call any number in the world using nothing but the microphone and speaker that is built into your Mac (or you can use a headset or USB phone if you want better quality sound).

What type of adaptor are you talking about?

The call costs are very reasonable and the quality is OK so long as you have a decent connection speed.

Skype call costs to India are NZD 0.159c/min (9.54c/hour)

    Hope this helps.
