Question:

VOIP number for USA and Hungary?

I work as an executive recruiter in New Jersey. I checked out skype but I think they don't have what I need. I want a local US (NJ) phone number that people can call me on, but that I can seamlessly continue to use if I am overseas (in Budapest). But most importantly, I want to be able to make VOIP/internet calls from overseas to the USA from Budapest or Prague or wherever, and I want the same "201-x*x-xxxx" number showing up in the caller ID of candidates I am talking to. Essentially, when I call a candidate I want them to know that they are dealing with a local American recruiter, even if I happen to be working from a remote client site. I know there are call centers offshore that mask their numbers, but I am a small business. Any ideas? Thanks in advance!! Steve

  1. Checkout the following webite http://www.thedigest.com for a soulution.

  2. I had a bad experience with the magic jack--calls dropping, static, etc..we did however, come upon the dta 2 port adapter thru globalinx.. check out the site www.5linx.net/lab under products. it 's the VOIP and u can take it with u anywhere u go and hook it up to the internet and talk on the phone just as if u were sitting in your own house! it's only 24.95 a month, and well worth it unlimited local/long distance, u can pick ur number or say u want to keep ur present number. my friends and i joke that this is going to put cell phone carriers out of business! hope this helps.

  3. get a MagicJack...! I found enough information for you!!

then use GrandCentral.com to get that area-code!!

  4. I use CallCentric and InPhonex for my incoming DID phone numbers.

CallCentric has area 201 DID's (Direct Inbound Dialing phone number) for $5.95/month with unlimited incoming calls.

InPhonex (LiteLine) has area 201 DID's for $7.95/month with unlimited incoming calls.  (See my profile for links)

You can buy a Linksys ATA from InPhonex that can be used anywhere in the world with highspeed Internet service.  Or, they have a free down-loadable softphone for use with a PC.

CallCentric is BYOD (bring your own Device).  They also have a free down-loadable softphone for use on your PC, or use an ATA phone adapter of your choice.

I use the Linksys PAP2T 2-line adapter (purchased from VoIP Depot in Canada).  I have line-1 configured for InPhonex and Line-2 configured for CallCentric.

If you want to use a configurable softphone that can be configured with InPhonex and CallCentric, you can try using X-Lite 3.0 and OpenWengo sofpthones:

    http://www.counterpath.com/13

    http://www.openwengo.org/

From my experience, OpenWengo is by far the easiest configurable SIP-based softphone to setup and use with any of various SIP-based VoIP services of your choice, such as InPhonex and CallCentric, etc.

  5. Maybe u should try out the  Cordia VOIP plans at https://www.cordiaip.com/

They are running a promotion right now where u can enjoy the first month free for all Cordia VOIP plans. The promotion code is AGLEEX182X.

    Good luck.
