  1. The front row hitting numbers depend on your setter and coaches decision. At least that is the way it is at my school. So if i were you i would just ask the setter or coach. Don't be afraid! I have been to different schools and played for different teams and all of them had different numbers.

  2. 4_          5_        6_

    3_          2_         1_

    (it's the order of serves...)

    :) have a great day!

this should help mabey this isn't what your team does but i hope i helped!!

  4. so starting from left front. left front hits a 4. middle front can hit three different kinds of sets. there is the 3 which is like a four but inside and the set is low and quick. then there is a 2 which is high in the middle. and the 1 which is hit right out of the setters hands. then the right front can hit a 5 which is a back set. there are also slides and tandoms and xs. but ull most likely only used the 4, 1 or 2, and 5

  5. left front - 5

left front - 5 off - a little farther out

    middle front - 2 - high set

    middle front - 1 - low set

    right front - 9 - back set

    middle back - pipe

    left back - A

    right back - C

    backslide -  32

  6. So the way it works is that there are 1 or 2 numbers in a set.  The first number indicates the position it will be set to: 1, 2, 3, or 4. 1 is right at the middle next to the setter, 2 is a little to the left, 3 moreso, and 4 a traditional outside.  The second number is the height of the ball.  A 1 is the lowest and so on.  Therefore a 32 set is a little more inside for the outside hitter and lower so they slide to escape the block.

The 1 and 2 you refer to are for the middle.  If it is just a 1 then it is a quick set, just about a foot above the net in the middle.  A 2 set is a little bit to the left and is typically 2-3 feet above the net.  The middle can then have more of an approach.  A 4 is a traditional high outside ball.

Basically, if there is one number it refers to both height and position.  So 1 is 11, 2 is 22, 4 is 44.  But like I said, there is a variation of a 32, or there could be a 31 or 41 which are shoot sets for the outside at different places.

To go to weak side, I have seen different teams say it differently.  I have seen it called a 5 or 9.

  7. 4- high outside (on left side for hitters)

    1- quick set in middle

    2- high middle

3- in between outside and hitter

5- back set to opposite (right side

10- back row attack (set at 10 ft. line)

    A- right back

    Pipe (pike)- middle back ish....high

    D- Left Back

    i hope this helped.

  8. it depends on your coach's preference- sometimes they divide the net into 9 sections (i think) and then add on the height they want the ball at. you can get up to like 95 i think.

    but its easier to use a 1, a 3, and a 5

    OR

    a hut, a 2, or a 5.

(we use 1,3, & 5, so im not sure about that last one ^)
